TRICARE is health insurance that's provided to people in the military of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is more common than one would assume, and the need to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehabilitation services to deal with alcohol and drug dependence such as detoxification services, along with rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. If an inpatient program is the preferred treatment option, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in such a center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits as to just how long a TRICARE member can remain in the inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very beneficial, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery.
