TRICARE is medical insurance that's provided to people in the military of the United States. Drug and alcohol use inside the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers numerous rehab services to handle alcohol and drug dependence such as detox services, along with rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People who have TRICARE will obviously need to get a prior authorization before partaking in any kind of rehab service, that may be organized with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program is the preferred treatment option, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in that facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits regarding just how long a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which is often very helpful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are expert rehabilitation counselors waiting to help today.
