Providing a secure environment is vital so that dual diagnosis clients can feel relaxed and remain undistracted from circumstances which may compromise their program and advancement. Treatment counselors will continue to work to recognize environmental issues in the client's life such as negative relationships or any other things that should be addressed in order for the person to be mentally stable and abstinen t whenever they depart dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also reap the benefits of behavioral treatment which helps them develop far better coping mechanisms so that they are able to better handle life situations better once they depart dual diagnosis rehab as opposed to returning to drugs and alcohol as a possible solution.
