TRICARE is medical insurance which is provided to individuals in the military of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is much more common than one would assume, and the necessity to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers many different treatment services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence including detoxification services, in addition to rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will of course be required to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any sort of treatment service, which may be organized using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program will be the preferred rehab choice, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits regarding the length of time a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which is often very useful, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are expert rehab counselors waiting to assist you today.
