TRICARE is health insurance that is offered to members of the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is a lot more common than one would think, and the need to provide treatment to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers many different rehabilitation services to deal with alcohol and drug dependence such as detoxification services, in addition to rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People with TRICARE will of course be required to have a prior authorization before partaking in any sort of treatment service, which may be organized using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program is the preferred treatment choice, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in such a facility per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits regarding the length of time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling that may be very helpful, as it can help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are professional treatment counselors ready to help today.
