TRICARE is health insurance that is offered to individuals in the military of the United States. Drug abuse inside the military is a lot more common than one would think, and the need to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers numerous rehabilitation services to address drug and alcohol dependence including detoxification services, as well as treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will of course be asked to get a prior approval before partaking in any sort of treatment service, that may be organized using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program could be the preferred rehab option, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in such a center per benefit period which is every 12 months. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very useful, as it may help include family members in the healing and process of recovery.
