Medicaid is a form of health insurance available for individuals who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government funded insurance. Whether or not somebody qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only depend on income however, and individuals shouldn't assume they don't qualify because they make a reasonable income. By way of example, people who have a lot of dependents may qualify for Medicaid even though they make what can be considered a reasonable income. Some states only cover outpatient rehab services for example while other states cover far more intensive rehabilitation like a residential stay in long-term drug and alcohol treatment center. If somebody is involved with drug abuse and wants help, they are able to use their Medicaid health coverage to get this help. If they don't have Medicaid plus don't have the money or some other type of health insurance to pay for treatment, they could determine if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then enroll in an alcohol and drug treatment program that's approved within their state.
