Medicare is a form of medical insurance created by the federal government for senior citizens, in addition to people with specific disabilities and illnesses. If someone that has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will be either covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The only catch is, the individual will need to receive treatment coming from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to begin rehabilitation, they may also have to visit their medical doctor who must state that rehab services are medically needed, and the physician will generally approve what type of rehabilitation the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehab providers. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center if the individual must be hospitalized because of their issue, and the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to every other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehabilitation in the Medicare accepted center, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
