A group home for a person who has tbeen involved with drug and alcohol abuse is a facility which offers continual support and help for folks in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for folks with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. Rather than sending individuals who are being affected by drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar place, a group home may help provide an acceptable environment to help individuals sustain stability inside their lives and still have counsel and assistance within reach around the clock. People who reside in a group home might be getting involved in treatment services whilst in residence, or could be taking actions to get their life setup outside of the group home so that they can at one point live on their own not in the group home. For instance, a troubled youth who's been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can try to get their GED or acquire employment. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent solution, yet it's a practical temporary option for those who making the effort to get their lives back together again.
