TRICARE is health insurance that is offered to folks in the military of the United States. Substance abuse inside the military is more common than one would imagine, and the need to provide treatment to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehab services to handle alcohol and drug dependence such as detoxification services, and also rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Individuals with TRICARE will naturally be required to obtain a prior approval before taking part in any type of rehabilitation service, that may be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program is the preferred treatment choice, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in such a center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits regarding how long a TRICARE member can stay in the inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which may be very beneficial, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled treatment counselors waiting to help you today.
