A group home for somebody who has tbeen involved with drug and alcohol abuse is a facility which provides continual support and help for those in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled adolescents, but in addition there are group homes for folks with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. Rather than sending individuals who are experiencing substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar place, a group home will help provide an acceptable environment to help individuals maintain stability in their lives and have counsel and assistance at their fingertips 24/7. People who reside in a group home could be involved in rehabilitation services whilst in residence, or could be taking measures to get their life set up outside the group home in order to at some point live independently outside of the group home. As an example, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or obtain employment. A group home is certainly not a long-term or permanent option, but it is a practical short term option for those who making the effort to get their lives back together.
