A group home for anyone who has been involved in drug and alcohol abuse is a facility which offers continuous support and assistance for folks in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled youth, but there are also group homes for people with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. As an alternative to sending those who are being affected by substance abuse or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or any other similar facility, a group home can help provide an appropriate environment to help individuals maintain stability in their lives and also have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. People who reside in the group home may be involved in rehab services during residence, or may be taking steps to get their life setup outside of the group home to enable them to at one point live on their own away from the group home.
