TRICARE is medical insurance that's offered to people in the military of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is more common than one would assume, and the need to offer treatment to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers many different treatment services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence such as detox services, and also rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will of course have to get a prior authorization before taking part in any kind of rehabilitation service, that may be arranged with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility could be the preferred rehab choice, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this particular facility per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits as to the length of time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which can be very helpful, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are expert rehab counselors ready to assist you today.
