Medicaid is a type of health care insurance available for individuals who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government provided insurance coverage. Whether or not an individual is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend on income however, and individuals shouldn't assume they don't qualify because they make an acceptable income. For example, men and women who have a lot of dependents may be entitled to Medicaid even though they earn what can be described as a sensible income. Medicaid may also cover the expense of rehabilitation, when someone has been abusing alcohol or drugs and requires treatment. There are several drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers which accept Medicaid, but various states have distinct guidelines for what forms of rehabilitation are covered. Certain states only cover outpatient rehab services for example while other states cover more extensive treatment like a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug rehab program. If somebody is involved with drug use and desires help, they're able to use their Medicaid insurance coverage to get this treatment. If they do not have Medicaid and also don't have the money or another form of medical insurance to cover treatment, they could see if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then enroll in a drug rehab program that's approved in their state.
