Medicaid is a form of medical insurance available for individuals who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government provided insurance. Whether or not somebody is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon income however, and individuals shouldn't assume they don't qualify just because they make an acceptable income. By way of example, men and women who have a lot of dependents may be entitled to Medicaid even though they earn what can be considered a reasonable income. Medicaid may also cover the costs of treatment, if someone has been abusing drugs or alcohol and requires rehabilitation. There are many alcohol and drug rehab programs which accept Medicaid, but various states have distinct guidelines for what types of treatment are covered. Some states only include outpatient treatment services as an example while other states cover far more extensive rehab such as a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug treatment center. If somebody is involved in drug abuse and desires help, they are able to use their Medicaid insurance coverage to obtain this treatment. If they don't have Medicaid plus don't have the cash or any other form of health care insurance to cover rehabilitation, they can determine if they qualify for Medicaid and then sign up for a drug and alcohol rehab facility that is approved in their state.
