Treatment counselors will continue to work to recognize environmental factors in the client's life including negative people in their lives or other things which must be addressed in order for the individual to stay mentally healthy and abstinen t when they leave dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral treatment which will help them develop far better coping mechanisms so they are better able to handle life situations well when they depart dual diagnosis rehab rather than returning to drugs as an inferior option.
