A LGBT program provides an environment which is totally free of judgment, where LGBT clients can feel completely safe and comfortable revealing to their peers and rehabilitation counselors problems which have to be resolved to enable them to get well. Rehabilitation counselors in a LGBT rehab can help clients mend relationships with their family members, in the case their loved ones disagree with their sexual preference as is generally the case. This circumstance is certainly a frequent trigger for abusing drugs, and is also a good example of an issue that will be resolved in rehab. LGBT clients often simply want to be accepted in their lives, and treatment will help them accept themselves and build confidence in order to lead a wholesome life free of drugs and alcohol.
