Medicare is a form of health care insurance designed by the federal government for older persons, along with people who have certain disabilities and diseases. If an individual who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for instances of substance abuse, their treatment will either be covered fully by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The only real catch is, the individual will need to obtain treatment coming from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be permitted to begin rehabilitation, they may also have to visit their primary care physician who must state that rehabilitation services are medically necessary, and the doctor will generally approve what type of treatment the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehabilitation services. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program when the individual must be hospitalized for issue, and the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to any other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment within a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance coverage or they're going to have to self pay.
