Medicare is a type of medical insurance created by the U.S. government for senior citizens, as well as people who have certain disabilities and illnesses. If someone who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of substance abuse, their treatment will either be covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a great extent. The one catch is, the individual must obtain treatment from an alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to begin treatment, they may also have to see their primary care physician who must state that rehab services are medically necessary, and the physician will generally approve which kind of rehabilitation the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehab solutions. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility if the individual needs to be in a hospital for his or her issue, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are identical to every other hospital stay. Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment inside a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
