Dual diagnosis rehabs are programs which deliver treatment to deal with both addiction and mental health issues concurrently. Providing a safe and secure environment is essential to ensure dual diagnosis clients can feel relaxed and remain free from distraction from things which may compromise their program and progress. Rehab counselors will continue to work to identify environmental factors in the client's life such as negative relationships or any other things that must be addressed in order for the individual to stay mentally stable and abstinen t once they leave dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral treatment that helps them develop far better coping methods so that they are better able to deal with life circumstances more effectively after they leave dual diagnosis rehab as opposed to returning to drugs and alcohol as an inferior answer.
