TRICARE is medical insurance which is offered to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use inside the military is more common than one would assume, and the need to provide rehab to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers many different rehabilitation services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence like detoxification services, along with rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People who have TRICARE will needless to say be asked to get a prior authorization before taking part in any type of treatment service, which can be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program is the preferred rehab choice, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits regarding how much time a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which may be very beneficial, as it could help include family members in the healing and process of recovery.
