TRICARE is medical insurance that is provided to people in the military of the United States. Drug abuse inside the military is more common than one would imagine, and the need to offer rehab to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers many different rehab services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence including detox services, along with treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People who have TRICARE will of course be asked to have a prior approval before partaking in any type of treatment service, which is often organized with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center will be the preferred rehab option, TRICARE covers twenty-one days or one inpatient stay in this center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits as to how much time a TRICARE member can remain in the inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very beneficial, as it can certainly help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled rehabilitation counselors waiting to help today.
