Medicaid is a type of health insurance available for individuals who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government funded insurance coverage. Whether or not somebody qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon income however, and people shouldn't assume they don't qualify simply because they make a good income. For example, people who have many dependents may qualify for Medicaid even when they make an amount be considered a fair income. Medicaid also can cover the costs of treatment, when someone has been abusing drugs or alcohol and requires rehabilitation. There are many alcohol and drug rehab facilities which accept Medicaid, but different states have distinct guidelines for what forms of rehab are covered. Some states only cover outpatient treatment services for instance while other states cover far more intensive rehabilitation say for example a residential stay in long-term drug rehab program. If anyone is involved in drug abuse and needs help, they are able to use their Medicaid health coverage to obtain this treatment. If they don't have Medicaid and also don't have the money or another form of medical health insurance to pay for treatment, they could see if they qualify for Medicaid and then enroll in a drug and alcohol treatment facility which is approved within their state.
