A group home for somebody who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a facility which offers continuous support and help for those in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled youth, but there are also group homes for individuals with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral problems for example. Rather than sending people who are experiencing drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar place, a group home will help offer an acceptable environment to help individuals maintain stability in their lives and still have counsel and assistance at their fingertips 24/7. Residents inside a group home may be taking part in rehab services whilst in residence, or could be taking measures to get their life setup outside of the group home in order to at one point live on their own outside of the group home. For instance, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can try to get their GED or acquire employment. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent solution, but it is a sensible short term option for individuals who making the effort to get their lives back together again.
