A group home for someone who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a place which provides continuous support and assistance for individuals in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there's also group homes for individuals with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. As opposed to sending individuals who are being affected by drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar facility, a group home may help provide an acceptable environment to help sustain stability within their lives and also have counsel and support within reach around the clock. People who reside inside a group home could be getting involved in treatment services while in residence, or could be taking steps to get their life setup outside the group home so that they can at some time live on their own outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or acquire work. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent option, however it is a viable short term option for those who are attempting to get their lives back together.
