A group home for anyone who has been involved in drug abuse is a place which provides continual support and help for those in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for folks with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. Instead of sending those who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar place, a group home might help provide an acceptable environment to help maintain stability within their lives and have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. People who reside in the group home could be taking part in rehabilitation services whilst in residence, or could be taking actions to get their life setup outside the group home to be able to at some time live independently outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can try to get their GED or obtain work. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent answer, but it's a feasible short term option for individuals who are trying to get their lives back together.
