TRICARE is health care insurance that's provided to members of the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is much more common than one would think, and the necessity to provide rehab to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers numerous treatment services to address alcohol and drug dependence such as detox services, as well as treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People who have TRICARE will of course be required to have a prior approval before taking part in any sort of treatment service, that may be arranged using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program will be the favored rehab choice, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in that program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are particular limits regarding the length of time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered.
