Self pay might be the only option for those who need rehabilitation in the alcohol and drug treatment program for substance abuse but have zero health care insurance. It isn't uncommon for an individual hooked on alcohol or drugs to not have private health insurance, as it can be difficult to have an alcohol or drug habit going while also sustaining work.
