Dual diagnosis rehabs are facilities which provide rehab to address both addiction and mental health issues concurrently. Offering a secure environment is key so that dual diagnosis clients can feel comfortable and remain free from distraction from things which could compromise their program and advancement. Rehab counselors will work to spot environmental issues in the client's life including negative people in their lives or other things that should be addressed in order for the person to remain mentally healthy and sober t whenever they depart dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral rehabilitation which will help them develop more effective coping mechanisms so they are able to better handle life circumstances more effectively after they depart dual diagnosis rehab rather than turning to alcohol and drugs as a possible answer.
