Medicaid is a health care insurance available for those who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to acquire this government funded insurance. Whether or not an individual is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon income however, and people shouldn't presume they don't qualify because they make a good income. For example, people who have many dependents may qualify for Medicaid even if they make an amount be described as a reasonable income. Some states only include outpatient treatment services for instance while other states cover far more intensive treatment such as a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug treatment center. If someone is involved in drug use and desires help, they could use their Medicaid health coverage to get this treatment. If they don't have Medicaid and in addition don't have enough cash or another kind of medical health insurance to pay for treatment, they can find out if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then enroll in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility that is approved in their state.
