TRICARE covers many different rehabilitation services to address drug and alcohol dependence such as detox services, as well as rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will of course need to have a prior approval before taking part in any sort of rehabilitation service, that may be arranged with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center could be the preferred treatment option, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in this facility per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits as to the length of time a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which is often very useful, as it could help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled rehab counselors standing by to help today.
