A group home for anyone who has been involved in drug and alcohol abuse is a facility which provides continuous support and help for those in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for folks with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral difficulties for example. As opposed to sending people who are being affected by substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar facility, a group home may help offer an appropriate environment to help individuals maintain stability inside their lives and have counsel and assistance within reach around the clock. Residents within a group home may be taking part in treatment services while in residence, or could possibly be taking measures to get their life set up outside of the group home in order to at some point live independently not in the group home.
