TRICARE is health care insurance which is offered to individuals in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to offer rehab to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers many different treatment services to handle alcohol and drug dependence such as detox services, and also rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People who have TRICARE will naturally be asked to have a prior approval before partaking in any kind of rehab service, which may be organized with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility is the preferred treatment option, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in that facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are particular limits as to how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which is often very helpful, as it could help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are professional rehab counselors standing by to assist you today.
