TRICARE is health insurance that is offered to individuals in the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse inside the military is a lot more common than one would think, and the need to offer treatment to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehabilitation services to address alcohol and drug dependence such as detoxification services, as well as treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will obviously have to obtain a prior authorization before partaking in any type of treatment service, which can be organized with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center could be the preferred rehabilitation choice, TRICARE covers 21 days or one inpatient stay in this program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits as to just how long a TRICARE member can remain in the inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which can be very beneficial, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are professional treatment counselors ready to help today.
