Hearing impaired individuals generally have a heightened probability of substance abuse issues due to their impairment, and rehab services must be at hand which serves their needs. However, drug rehabilitation counselors who offer rehab to hearing impaired individuals understand the challenges these clients face. ASL rehab services are definitely a must, as are rehab services which address the unique challenges that hearing impaired individuals face. Group therapy gives a forum for important peer support in order that rehab clients can know they are not on their own, and that there's hope to handle their problem with alcohol and drugs. Individual counseling services could be more tailored for each individual so that their own personal challenges can be remedied in rehabilitation.
