Medicare is a form of medical health insurance developed by the federal government for seniors, as well as individuals with specific disabilities and sicknesses. If a person who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will be either covered completely by their Medicare health insurance or to a great extent. The one exception is, the individual will have to receive treatment from the alcohol and drugs detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to commence rehab, they will also have to visit their doctor who must state that rehab services are medically essential, and the doctor will generally approve which kind of treatment the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehab services. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility if the individual should be hospitalized because of their issue, along with the costs that they will have to cover personally are identical to any other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment within a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
