Medicare is a type of medical insurance created by the government for older persons, along with people who have certain disabilities and illnesses. If an individual who has Medicare needs rehab for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will be either covered in full by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant degree. The one catch is, the person will need to receive treatment coming from an alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be permitted to start rehab, they may also have to visit their doctor who must declare that rehab services are medically essential, and the physician will generally approve what sort of treatment the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehab services. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual needs to be in a hospital for his or her problem, and also the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to every other hospital stay. Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment within a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance or they will have to self pay.
