Medicare is a type of health insurance created by the federal government for older persons, along with those that have certain disabilities and sicknesses. If an individual that has Medicare needs treatment for instances of substance abuse, their rehab will either be covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a great extent. The only exception is, the individual must acquire treatment from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be permitted to commence treatment, they may also have to see their primary care physician who must state that rehabilitation services are medically needed, and the doctor will typically approve what type of rehabilitation the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehabilitation providers. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program when the individual should be hospitalized for problem, as well as the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as any other hospital stay. Part B will partly cover outpatient rehabilitation in a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they're going to have to self pay.
