A group home for someone who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a place which provides continuous support and help for individuals in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled youth, but in addition there are group homes for individuals with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral difficulties for example. As opposed to sending individuals who are struggling with substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar facility, a group home will help provide an appropriate environment to help sustain stability within their lives and still have counsel and support within reach around the clock. Residents within a group home might be involved in rehabilitation services whilst in residence, or could be taking actions to get their life setup outside of the group home to be able to at one point live independently outside of the group home. For instance, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can work on getting their GED or acquire employment. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent solution, but it's a viable short-term option for many who are attempting to get their lives back together.
