Hearing impaired persons tend to have a heightened probability of drug use issues because of the impairment, and rehab services must be available which cater to their circumstances. People who are hearing impaired can seem to be alone, unmotivated, and be without goals due to their impairment. ASL treatment services are definitely a necessity, as are treatment services which address the particular challenges that hearing impaired individuals encounter. Group therapy gives a forum for important peer support to ensure treatment clients can know they are not on their own, and that there is hope to handle their problem with alcohol and drugs. Individual therapy services can be more tailored for each individual to ensure their own personal problems can be addressed in treatment.
