Treatment counselors will work to spot environmental factors in the client's life including negative people in their lives or any other things that have to be addressed in order for the person to remain mentally healthy and abstinen t once they depart dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral treatment that helps them develop more efficient coping methods so that they are able to better deal with life circumstances well if they leave dual diagnosis rehab rather than returning to alcohol and drugs as a possible answer.
