Dual diagnosis rehabs are centers which provide rehab to deal with both addiction and mental health concerns at the same time. Providing a safe and secure setting is essential to ensure dual diagnosis clients can be at ease and remain undistracted from circumstances that may compromise their treatment plan and development. Rehabilitation counselors will continue to work to recognize environmental factors in the client's life such as negative relationships or other things which need to be addressed in order for the individual to stay mentally healthy and abstinen t when they leave dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral rehab which will help them develop more efficient coping mechanisms so that they are able to better deal with life situations well if they leave dual diagnosis rehab as opposed to returning to alcohol and drugs as an inferior option.
