TRICARE is medical health insurance that's offered to folks in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is more common than one would think, and the need to provide rehab to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehab services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence such as detox services, as well as rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People who have TRICARE will naturally be asked to have a prior authorization before partaking in any kind of rehab service, which may be arranged with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility could be the preferred rehabilitation option, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in such a facility per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits about just how long a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which can be very beneficial, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are professional treatment counselors ready to help today.
