TRICARE is health care insurance that is offered to members of the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to provide rehab to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers many different rehab services to handle alcohol and drug dependence like detox services, and also rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will of course be asked to have a prior authorization before taking part in any kind of rehab service, which can be organized using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility will be the preferred rehabilitation option, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in this particular center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are particular limits about how much time a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling that may be very helpful, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery.
