Medicare is a type of health insurance developed by the federal government for senior citizens, along with people with certain disabilities and illnesses. If a person that has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of substance abuse, their rehabilitation will be either covered fully by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The only exception is, the individual will have to receive treatment from your alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to begin treatment, they will also have to see their medical doctor who must state that rehab services are medically essential, and the physician will typically approve which kind of rehabilitation the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover various kinds of rehab services. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility if the individual needs to be in a hospital for issue, as well as the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as every other hospital stay. Part B will partially cover outpatient rehab in a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
