TRICARE is medical insurance that's offered to individuals in the military of the United States. Substance abuse inside the military is a lot more common than one would think, and the necessity to offer rehab to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers many different treatment services to address drug and alcohol dependence including detox services, and also rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People who have TRICARE will naturally have to get a prior approval before partaking in any kind of rehab service, which may be arranged with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center could be the preferred rehabilitation option, TRICARE will cover twenty-one days or one inpatient stay in this center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits as to just how long a TRICARE member can stay in the inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which may be very beneficial, as it could help include family members in the healing and recovery process.
