TRICARE is medical insurance that is provided to individuals in the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse inside the military is much more common than one would think, and the need to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers a number of treatment services to handle alcohol and drug dependence including detoxification services, and also treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People with TRICARE will naturally have to get a prior authorization before partaking in any type of treatment service, that may be organized using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program will be the favored treatment option, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in such a program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits concerning the length of time a TRICARE member can stay in the inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy that may be very helpful, as it can help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are expert treatment counselors ready to help you today.
