This situation is certainly a common trigger for substance abuse, and is an example of a thing that could be resolved in treatment. LGBT clients often simply want to be accepted within their lives, and rehabilitation will help them accept themselves and produce confidence so that they can lead a healthy life free of drugs and alcohol.
