Medicare is a type of health care insurance designed by the federal government for senior citizens, as well as people who have certain disabilities and diseases. If someone who has Medicare needs treatment for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehab will either be covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a great extent. The one exception is, the individual will have to receive treatment from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to begin rehab, they will also have to see their primary care physician who must declare that rehab services are medically needed, and the doctor will usually approve what type of rehab the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of treatment services. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility if the individual should be hospitalized for their problem, as well as the costs which they willwill have to cover personally are identical to any other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab in a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance or they'll have to self pay.
