A group home for somebody who has tbeen involved with drug and alcohol abuse is a facility which provides continuous support and help for people in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled youth, but additionally, there are group homes for folks with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral problems for example. As an alternative to sending people who are being affected by drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar facility, a group home may help offer an appropriate environment to help sustain stability within their lives and have counsel and support within reach around the clock. People who reside in the group home may be taking part in rehabilitation services whilst in residence, or may be taking steps to get their life setup outside of the group home so that they can at one point live independently outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth who's been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or obtain employment. A group home is certainly not a long-term or permanent answer, but it's a feasible short-term option for individuals who are attempting to get their lives back together again.
